The Schuylers were a wealthy colonial family from Albany, N.Y., and included General Philip John Schuyler (1733-1804), a Revolutionary soldier and statesman who represented New York in the first Senate of the U.S. Collection consists of correspondence and a few miscellaneous papers of various members of the Schuyler family. Correspondence is largely incoming; miscellaneous papers include personal papers and documents.
